“Think World Class” Chapter 60, AWE

Definition: A feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder

I have come to the conclusion that living a life in a state of awe is an essential component to the human experience of being fully alive. Awe is not just for selective moments in time or isolated experiences that may momentarily capture our attention with wonder. No; it is an obligation to consciously open our minds, hearts and eyes and to see things with a perception of awe and curiosity. Illuminate your day esthetically, intellectually or emotionally with awe and see your life unfold with eyes filled with possibility, wonder and appreciation.

This applies in equal measure, regardless if the experience verges on the mundane or simplistic or it is so vast and amazing that it is beyond our limited comprehension. Understanding what is happening is not always essential and can be mutually exclusive to feelings of awe.
